  1. I have had so many amazing and lovely parents. One of my parents got my whole family round trip train tickets to the vacation destination of our choice. What an amazing gift!

  2. After leaving a district (in another state), a parent reached out and actually emailed my "new" administration at my new school to tell them about me and how lucky they were to have me at the school. That was so kind of them!

  3. Not sure if this counts as kindness, but it was to me. After teaching fourth grade for 17 years, I was moved to 6th grade. As luck would have it, that meant I would have some of my previous fourth graders, again. The parent of one of these children, in my opinion, is just wonderful! Anyway, she was so happy that her child was in my class that the hug she gave me lasted for, what seemed like, forever. It was so nice to know that I have such an excited parent. That hug meant the world to me. This is why I teach!

  4. Before I was married, I was teaching at a private school several hours away from my parents. I made a mistake in my finances that month and didn’t have money to do laundry, so one parent offered to meet me at the laundromat (she had to be there anyway) and payed for my laundry.

  5. One of my parents brought me real honey, lemon and tea in a jar because I was sick. Another parent at that same school brought me Mexican sweet bread and a drink "just because". Both times, very sweet gestures!

  6. My husband passed away suddenly in June. One of the parents made sure to find me every morning and every afternoon to give me a hug, or squeeze my hand just so i would know she was always there for me; for any reason, at any time.

  7. The kindest thing that a parent has done for me was kitty sit my KitKit for 4 nights while my family and I traveled to Austin, TX for the H.E.B. Excellence in Education Awards. I posted on Facebook asking if anyone would be willing to, and within not even a minute, this parent responded. What a blessing!
